Miami, FL May 29, 2012 (Miami, FL.) IOS Health Systems Selected by South Florida Regional Extension as Featured EHR Partner

IOS Health Systems (IOS), a leading innovator of web-based electronic health record (EHR), practice management and services to medical providers announces that the South Florida Regional Extension Center (SFREC) has selected IOS as a Featured Partner and Certified EHR Vendor. The South Florida REC undertook a rigorous evaluation process of the nations’ leading EHR providers in order to identify its Solution Partners. IOS currently has the largest amount of EHR installations in South Florida and will be collaborating with the South Florida REC to work with physicians and health care providers in eight Florida counties from Key West to Vero Beach.

Headquartered in Miami, Florida IOS has partnered with the South Florida REC to provide its area physicians access to the latest cutting-edge EHR technology. Medios EHR will enable providers to reduce their medical costs by increasing overall efficiencies, improve collection of clinical data, reduce medical errors, securely communicate with providers and patients, and enable reporting on quality measures.  The collaborative efforts of the South Florida REC and IOS will provide area physicians the technology, guidance, support and services they require to ultimately achieve meaningful use while enhancing health care quality, safety, and efficiency.

Andrew Carricarte, IOS Health Systems President and CEO, states, “We are very pleased to align our initiatives with the SFREC as our community partner. Our solutions combined with their services have assisted thousands of physicians with the compliance of meaningful use and the receipt of incentive payments.”

Funded through the Office of National Coordinator of Health Information Technology and coordinated by a collaboration of health organizations, the nonprofit South Florida REC has enrolled over 2,600 area physicians.  Physicians joining the South Florida REC will be provided with assistance and guidance as they move toward federally-mandated meaningful use. Once a provider has a system in place and can demonstrate meaningful use of electronic health records, financial incentives are available of up to $63,750.

Mrs. Lisa Rawlins, Executive Director of the South Florida Regional Extension Center, states, “We are honored to continue our long-standing relationship with IOS as a valued EHR partner for our community physicians’. We look forward to continued collaboration and expansion of our services through connections with regional Health Information Exchanges providing an enhanced level of value and access for physicians in South Florida."

About Medios
Medios EHR is the easiest to use and implement EHR system on the market today, adapting to the way physician’s and their practices work.  Since Medios EHR is fully web-based it provides immediate and secure access to critical patient information and physician tools that are not normally accessible via paper; such as drug interactions, clinical decision support, patient education, disease and patient population management. Because Medios is integrated to so many different entities, the physician has a more complete patient record at the point of care allowing for the ability to deliver an accurate assessment and diagnosis. In addition, patients are also given physician controlled access to their medical records and the ability to make payments and schedule appointments via the system’s Patient Portal. Medios EHR is also fully integrated with Medios PM - Practice Management system, providing practices with the tools to have full control of the revenue cycle by automating the claims process, reducing claim rejections, and providing total management of the practice from check-in to payment.

Medios EHR enables providers to reduce their medical costs by increasing overall efficiencies, improve collection of clinical data, reduce medical errors, securely communicate with providers and patients, and enable reporting on quality measures. Medios integrated Meaningful Use Meter (MU Meter), provides physicians with a reporting dashboard that monitors and tracks Meaningful Use patterns providing real-time usage where practices can monitor their continued progress towards demonstrating and achieving Meaningful Use.
